The Detroit Tigers host the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday afternoon in Game 3 of the ALDS.
Cleveland used a five-run first inning to win Game 1 of the series. Game 2 was a pitcher's duel as the game was 0-0, heading to the top of the ninth inning.
The Guardians called on one of the best closers in baseball, Emmanuel Clase, but it wasn't enough. Detriot put two runners on with one out when Kerry Carpenter stepped to the plate. Carpenter delivered the most significant swing of his career, launching a three-run home run into the right field stands.
The Tigers slammed the door in the bottom half of the inning to earn a 3-0 victory.
