Kaprielian will be facing off against the Cleveland Guardians, who struggled mightily to score in the first inning last season, failing to do so in 70% of their games. This season, the Guardians have failed to score in all three of their first innings, making it 100% so far. With the lowest run total on the board for today's game, a scoreless top of the first inning looks likely.

Following Kaprielian, Zach Plesac will take the mound against the Oakland Athletics.
