Sandy Alcantara will take over against a struggling Diamondbacks team as he defends his home turf. Sandy is an NRFI specimen, last season going 26-6 to the NRFI and starting off the year with a hot 3-0 start. Against the Dbacks last season, Sandy went 7.0 full innings, gave up only one run, and cashed the successful NRFI.

Miami Marlins vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction

Sandy will be taking on an Arizona Dbacks team that ranked bottom 5 in 1st inning runs per game in the 2022 season. While on the road this season, the Dbacks are 6-2 to the NRFI while only batting .215 and totaling four home runs through 256 total at-bats.

Next, another NRFI ace will take over through the arm of Zac Gallen. Gallen is 29-4 to the NRFI dating back to last season, which ranks at the very top of the league while facing a horrid offense here. Although Gallen hasn’t been his strongest this season, he has yet to allow any first-inning runs and also has had very minimal traffic in the first inning thus far.

Gallen will be taking on the Marlins, the worst first-inning offense during the 2022 season, and their trends have continued into 2023. So far, the Marlins are 12-3 (80%) to the NRFI while posting a 7-2 home NRFI record. They have only scored 23 runs in nine home games, averaging a mere 2.55 runs per game. Look for them to remain scoreless against the ace here.
