To start this one, Nestor Cortes will take over against the traveling Angels in Yankee Stadium. Nasty Nestor has been fantastic this season, going 3-0 to the NRFI and holding a 2.60 ERA 17.1 innings pitched. Cortes is drastically better at home in his career, holding a 1.95 ERA and going 13-2 to the NRFI last season while at home.
NRFI Bets Today - New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Angels (4/20)
Cortes will be taking on the Angels in this matchup in New York. The Angels this season are 8-4 to the NRFI in away games which is a great split for Cortes here. Along with that, Cortes had 1 start against the Angels last year when he went 7.0 full innings, struck out 7 and gave up 0 runs in the matchup.
Next, the young superstar of Patrick Sandoval will handle business against the Yankees here. Sandoval is having a career year so far through 3 starts, going 3-0 to the NRFI and holding a 1.23 ERA. Last year against the Yankees, Sandoval held a 2.57 ERA so the sluggers do not pose any fear for the lefty. Sandoval and his 23-6 1st inning NRFI record since last year should be able to handle business against the Yanks here.
As for the Yankees, they have been tough to contain in the 1st inning so far. With saying this, there are many comfortable splits that remain in the no run first inning favor here.
