Cleveland is 11-11 on the short MLB season and looks to improve to a winning record against a lowly Colorado Rockies team on Monday night. Cal Quantrill is on the bump today which is fine, but the real reason we love this bet is because of who the Rockies have as their pitcher for tonight.
Cleveland Guardians vs. Colorado Rockies Prediction
Austin Gomber is on the mound for Colorado tonight. Gomber has a 12 ERA on the season in four starts and has allowed 22 runs in 16 innings of work. With each start, he has allowed three runs, and in three out of four starts, he has allowed 5+. Cleveland hits lefties better than righties, and they get the one arguably struggling the most in the MLB.
The Guardians just faced a much superior lefty last night in Jesus Lazardo and got four runs off of him. We just need to lead after five innings here, and Cal is sufficient enough to maintain that end. Quantrill has faced these bats 48 times and has only allowed ten hits, just barely over a .200 batting average against him.
The Guardians are -200 favorites for a reason, but that juice is too steep. I like them to get an early lead and not look back. We have the better bats and the better pitcher. On an otherwise ugly slate, this easily sticks out as my favorite bet of the day. Let's keep it short and sweet and hope to improve our 19-6 record on the season. Let's roll!
