I'm keeping it simple today. Let's get into my pick, prediction, and odds for this MLB matchup.

I rarely pick a game straight up, but this feels right. I love picking a team who lost a game they shouldn’t have lost a previous day to bounce back. Cincinnati is not a good baseball team, but they came back yesterday to upset the Rangers. I don’t expect them to win back-to-back games.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Texas Rangers Prediction

Texas has Martin Perez on the mound. Perez has had a fine year, nothing elite but definitely serviceable, rocking a 3.38 ERA thus far. He has faced these Reds bats just 20 times but has only allowed four hits. Cincinnati, on the season, barely hits over .230 against Southpaw pitchers.

Cincinnati has Luke Weaver on the mound. Weaver is not good anymore. In his last two seasons, he has had a 7.71 and 5.59 ERA in a large sample size. This year is more of the same as he has started just once but allowed four earned runs against the Pittsburgh Pirates. I expect the Rangers to get to him as well.

The Rangers also have a bullpen advantage. The Rangers currently have the second-best bullpen in the MLB in terms of ERA, only trailing the Yankees. We have the better pitching, the better bats, and the better bullpen. And factor that in with this being a bounce-back spot; I really dig this play. I know we’ll be on the side with more money on it but lets just hope the better team wins today. Let's roll!
