Los Angeles Angels vs. Oakland Athletics Prediction
It has been a rough start to the season for Oakland, who is slated to be one of the worst teams in all of baseball. The As had some solid teams over the last few years, but they decided to blow up their playoff roster and start over. The results have not been positive, and it was recently announced that the As will be moving to Las Vegas within the next few years. Despite the poor start, Oakland was able to pull off an impressive last night in extra innings. The As bats were on fire as they used eleven runs to outlast the Angels.
For the Angels, the expectations are high entering this year. Los Angeles has been one of the most disappointing teams in baseball in the Mike Trout era, but this is a team that they feel can make some noise this year. It is a bit mind-boggling how the Angels have not been able to make the playoffs with the two best players on their roster in, Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani.
The Angels felt as if pitching was the main issue of this team, and they were active in the offseason trying to add arms to the bullpen and to the rotation. It will be interesting to see how this season pans out for the Angels. Tonight the Angels will send Griffin Canning to the mound. Opposing Canning will be young right-hander Mason Miller.
I am going to trust the Angels to bounce back at home tonight. The Angels are due to turn things around, and I think that they are being a bit undervalued on this -1 line tonight. Simply put, this is a very bad Oakland As team, and I expect their bats to seriously regress tonight. Mason Miller is a solid young arm, but this is a tough task for him, facing one of the best offenses in baseball.
