5 minAtlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Best Bet: Do Bryce Elder, Braves Have Advantage Over Dodgers?
The Dodgers roughed up Spencer Strider last night as they pretty much dominated the Atlanta Braves from the second inning on. Bobby Miller was extremely impressive in his MLB debut as he held the explosive Atlanta offense to just one run across five innings as the Dodgers would eventually win by a score of 8-1.

Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction
Things do not get any easier for the Braves tonight as they will face Tony Gonsolin, who comes into this game with a record of 2-0 and an ERA of 1.13 as he hasn’t given up an Earned Run since May 2nd across 16 consecutive innings. Gonsolin has been excellent on the road so far as well, as he has thrown 14 1/3rd innings while allowing 0 ER and only six hits. The problem with Gonsolin is that he usually throws a ton of pitches and does not get very deep into games. Gonsolin has only pitched into the 6th inning once this season and is averaging just under two walks per start.
The Braves are a patient but aggressive offense that has no issues with taking free passes while taking advantage of mistakes in the middle of the plate. On the other side for the Braves, tonight will be Bryce Elder, who has been a savior for this Atlanta squad as they have dealt with a lot of injuries in their starting rotation. Elder is 3-0 on the season with a 2.06 ERA. I love that Bryce Elder is the complete opposite of what you normally see from Pitchers in today’s game. Elder won’t throw anything over 92 mph and relies on the location and movement of his pitches to get outs.
Nearly every pitch that Elder throws has incredible movement, and he gets a ton of soft contact, allowing him to go fairly deep in his starts. Elder has made nine starts this season and has pitched into at least the sixth inning in eight of them. Elder’s ability to keep the ball in the ballpark will also be a huge factor tonight. He has only allowed three homers on the season in 50+ innings, and they were all solo home runs in the same start against the Miami Marlins, meaning that in nine total starts, he has gone eight of them without allowing a single long ball.
The Dodgers have been killing the Braves this series with homers, so I believe Elder will be able to neutralize that and give the Braves an advantage. With that being said, I am rolling with Braves F5 ML at -109 and Braves Full Game ML at -113 for 1U each as my most confident MLB plays of the day, as I think Atlanta avoids the three-game sweep tonight.
