Every play we’ve had this year has been for one unit. This is the first time we are upping that and for a good reason. This game has a 6.5 run total, and we are due some NRSI luck. Let's get into the specifics as to why this is a great bet.
Chicago Cubs vs. New York Mets Prediction
First, this game will have wind pointing in, decreasing our chances of losing on a home run. The game will also feature two pitchers who have shown to have good stuff this year. On one end we have Kodai Senga fresh off of six innings of dominant work allowing just three hits against the Tampa Bay Rays at home. On the other end, we have Marcus Stroman coming off a nearly similar start, also only allowing three hits.
Stroman is the main man we are trusting today, with our juice reducer needing Chicago not to lose by 5+ runs. In a game with a 6.5 total, I would like to think that’s safe. Stroman has an impressive 2.79 home ERA, and the Mets typically play close games. As for the NRSI, we are hoping for at least one hit to avoid Pete Alonso, but it’s highly likely with guys like Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Lindor.
We need three outs from Senga; we’re not asking for much here. Chicago has only scored a second-inning run three times in their last 21 games. One of those times was the last game, and if the hit rate is that bad, then it’s unlikely they will do it two times in a row. Trusting the law of averages here. Let's redeem ourselves and win this one. Let's roll!
