New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction: Can Aaron Judge, Yankees Bounce Back?
Last night, the New York Yankees thought they had a win secured before the Baltimore Orioles scored eight runs in one inning. Baltimore won 9-6, and many are saying Aaron Boone left his starter out there way too long. With a series victory on the line, will the Yankees bounce back after blowing it last night?

New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction
Clarke Schmidt has been all over the place this season. He either locks in for five innings of two-run ball or gives up four or five before he can get through the fifth inning. He is coming off an impressive start in a hitter-friendly environment, allowing two runs in five innings of work against the Reds in Cincinnati. The 27-year-old will be dueling against Baltimore’s Opening Day starter Kyle Gibson, who’s been just as inconsistent as Schmidt.
Gibson is coming off debatably his best start of the season, allowing only one run in seven innings of work against the Blue Jays. The veteran right-hander has yet to follow up a solid start with a consecutive one. He just can’t seem to find his rhythm in Baltimore. Facing a Yankees lineup that’s been heating up, Gibson could be in for another subpar outing after the best start of his season.
After a horrid start, the Yankees have won seven of their previous ten games. They are finally getting healthy and consistently scoring. Aaron Judge is locked in and is the best hitter on the planet right now. He took the Orioles' elite closer deep in the bottom of the ninth with two outs to keep the Yankees alive the other night. When Judge is healthy and locked in, he is undoubtedly the most dangerous hitter in MLB.
The Orioles have been pitching around him, walking him four times over the first two games of this series. This seems to be a common theme for teams facing the Yankees, but their Captain has still managed to hit eight home runs over his last ten games. If the Orioles want to pitch around him, they can try, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to work.
After blowing what should have been a series-clinching win, back the Yankees to shake it off and bounce back tonight. This offense is finally clicking, putting up 29 runs in their last five games. Their offense won’t be slowing down against Kyle Gibson. Sell high on Gibson and fade the Orioles’ “ace,” who’s coming off his best start of the season.
