The St. Louis Cardinals and the Cleveland Guardians will duel things out from Cleveland, Ohio, on Friday night for an interleague affair. Both of these teams have been disappointing to begin the year. Both teams made the postseason a year ago, and both entered the season feeling like they could run things back.

Cleveland Guardians vs. St. Louis Cardinals Prediction
Cleveland has been ice-cold lately, and they feel they desperately need to win a series over the weekend. St. Louis, meanwhile, got off to one of their worst starts in franchise history, but as of late, they have played much better baseball. On paper, this is the best team in their division, and they feel they have gotten out of the rough patch of their season.
St. Louis won a game yesterday 2-1, led by a string outing from former all-star Mike Mikolas. Pitching has been the biggest issue for this Cardinals team, but they feel they have guys that are due to bounce back and can be key contributors to this team. Tonight St. Louis will send Southpaw Matthew Liberatore to the mound. Liberatore has been solid in a small sample size this season going 1-0 with an era of just 3.00.
Opposing him will be former Cy Young award winner Shane Bieber. Bieber has been outstanding in his career in a Cleveland uniform and has been good to start this year. His record is just 3-3, but his era is just 3.08. Cleveland will need a strong outing from Bieber tonight.
I will put my money on the Guardians in the first five innings today. I have to trust that this Guardians team will figure things out sooner than later, and what better spot to bounce back than to have your ace on the mound today? On the flip side, Cleveland should have a lot of favorable matchups tonight versus the left-hander, which should lead to an offensive explosion.
