The New York Mets host the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 2 of the series from Citi Field after a 2-0 snoozer last night. The Phillies' offense was crickets in the series opener, and Kodai Senga had an excellent outing. Tonight, there should be some more offense, as both of these lineups are too good to be held down for a long time. I have a same game parlay for tonight's game that I love at a decent payout of 5/1.

New York Mets vs. Philadelphia Phillies Same-Game Parlay
Leg 1: Pete Alonso 1+ Hit
Pete Alonso has been an absolute machine against Nola. He also has the most volume. His 43 at-bats against Nola lead the Mets, and he has not disappointed. He is 15-43 off Nola, good for a .349 average, and has only three walks. He also has five home runs, so he kinda has Nola's number, and just in case he doesn't get one off Nola, the Phillies don't have the best bullpen either. With such good numbers with so many at-bats, I'm confident Alonso can get at least one knock tonight.
Leg 2: Trea Turner 2+ Bases
Speaking of domination, Trea Turner is six for eight off Carlos Carrasco with two doubles. He is all over whatever Carrasco has to offer him. It is a limited sample size, but Turner has proven dominant in his small sample size against Carrasco. Also, Turner has gone hitless for two games now, and I don't expect that to continue. He has been making contact but finding gloves. He has not struck out once in the last two games, and he only has one strikeout in his last five games with 21 at-bats combined. He also has not been taking very many walks, so I think we will see an aggressive Trea Turner tonight who will want to do damage against a pitcher he has had success against.
Leg 3: Aaron Nola O5.5 Strikeouts
Aaron Nola has not had a great season so far. He has a 4.59 ERA, and he has not looked as solid as he did in 2022. However, while he has been giving up runs, he has still been getting strikeouts. In fact, he is in the top 9% of the called strike plus whiff rate category. His pitches have good movement, but when he misses, he misses badly. So he has been giving up runs on misses, but he still has good stuff that is getting him strikeouts. Take his last start, for example. He gave up five runs in six innings to the Atlanta Braves but got seven strikeouts and hit his prop line.
Against the Mets, Nola has had a lot of success, strikeout-wise at least. He has hit at least seven strikeouts in four straight meetings against the Mets, and he has hit over 5.5 in eight of his last ten head-to-head meetings against them and had five in both misses. The Met's current roster has a 31% strikeout percentage against Nola. I think he can hit at least six again.
