Seattle Mariners vs. New York Yankees Prediction
This Yankees team has played some outstanding baseball as of late after getting off to an average start this season. Like a typical Yankees team, the expectations here are high for New York. The Yankees have an extremely talented team that, if locked in and playing their best baseball, will have an opportunity to be the last team standing at the end of the season.
Seattle, meanwhile, snapped their playoff drought a season ago and is hopeful of returning to the playoffs this season. They have had a pretty average start to their season, but they feel as if they are better than their record indicates. Seattle has struggled from a pitching standpoint in this series as they have fallen behind in both games early on and dug themselves holes too steep to get out of. Tonight the Mariners will hand the baseball to one of their young arms that they are high on George Kirby. Kirby is 5-4 with an ERA of 3.43.
I am going to take a prop tonight and trust that George Kirby continues his solid season. We are taking Kirby to allow under 5.5 hits tonight. I know that the Yankees bats have been hot in this series but facing a tough arm tonight in Kirby, I believe their bats will regress tonight. This Yankees team is not built on stringing hits together, as they rank 18th in baseball in overall hits. Kirby has done a solid job at limiting his opponents this year, and I expect him to keep the Yankees under six hits today.
