Texas Rangers vs. St. Louis Cardinals Prediction

Since the start of last season, I have been writing about how much I love what they are doing in Texas and this season has been a perfect display of how what I've been taking about. The offensive production and talent they showed glimpses of all last season has been consistent as their run differential continues to improve. They near 20 games over .500 at 38-20, and I see no signs of this team stopping and with their matchup tonight at home against the Cardinals. We should see some runs.

Martin Perez is a more than capable arm and one of the strong points of the Texas Rangers rotation this season, but St. Louis is notorious for being more than effective against south paws. St. Louis battled back from a rough start but has now dropped seven of their last ten games and sit ten games below .500. The entire starting outfield from Opening Day is currently on the IL and the pitching has done them no favors. The talent is all there and this squad is more than capable of turning things around, but will they?

I am not sure if they start that with winning a tough series against a red-hot Texas team, but I think between the sense of urgency the Cardinals' bats should have heading into this series combined with a rhot home team in a hitters' ball park, we'll see runs in a big way this series. Overs are 19-8 in Texas home games this season.
