This is a fun one. It’s not often with our bets that we can win with a tie. We just need the Houston Astros not to trail after five innings, and we win this one. Houston enters this game as an underdog, but I believe it should be closer to a pick-em game.
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Houston Astros Prediction
On the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays is Alek Manoah. Now if that were last year, it would scare me away. This year, Manoah has drastically declined his productivity and looked very hittable. He is sporting a 5.46 ERA and a home ERA of 6.83 in home starts. His xERA is 6.42, and he gets a tough matchup against the Astros.
On the mound for Houston is Brandon Bielak. This is a great test for him today. Toronto is absolutely no slouch, but he has pitched very well. Bielak has allowed one earned run or less while pitching 5+ innings in three of his last four games. If he can replicate that performance, I like our odds of cashing quite a bit.
I really think this game is 50/50, so getting a team like Houston at +0.5 is an undeniable value. Houston is a better road team with a 17-10 record and has won 18 of their last 24 games. Not going to overthink this one, both teams had to travel overnight, and this game should remain close, which bodes well for us. Let's roll!
