We are starting our week off on the diamond tonight, going right back to the well as the Texas Rangers host the Los Angles Angels, and I expect this series to be a fun one.

Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Angels Prediction

Texas has the second-best home record in the league, and I believe they will keep that trend going. They are playing really solid baseball all around, and the offensive production has been great. They will continue to have to keep producing down the stretch to hold their standing in the league, especially with the loss of Jacob DeGrom from the rotation. DeGrom is just one piece of this talented squad, but losing him from the rotation means they have less help from the mound each week.

They have dropped three of their last four games but are still swinging the sticks well, and tonight, they face an arm they are more than capable of getting after with Tyler Anderson. Anderson is sporting a 5.62 ERA and a 5.14 FIP this season and is historically bad against this Texas lineup; through 50 at-bats, the Rangers are slashing .300/.349/.504 off him and are a more talented squad now than they were the last time they saw him.

Normally I would just take Texas in this spot, but I am actually going to double dip here tonight as although Dane Dunning has been solid this year at 5-1 with a 2.52 ERA, historically, Los Angeles has killed him.

They are slashing .324/.426/.732 off him for a crazy high 1.158 OPS across 74 at-bats, which is a large enough sample size for me to believe they can, at the very least, tag a few runs off of him. I think Texas takes home the victory and does most of the work, but Los Angeles should definitely get on the board to help us cash the over as well here. Four of the last five meetings between them have gone over.
