5 minMinnesota Twins vs. Milwaukee Brewers Best Bet: Do Pablo Lopez, Twins Have an Edge Over the Brewers?
Corbin Burnes and the Milwaukee Brewers opened up as a (-115) favorite before the sharps steamed the Minnesota Twins to a favorite. Now, the Twins are currently (-120) on the moneyline with less than 40% of bets and handle backing them. Will Pablo Lopez start living up to his new contract and follow up his best start of the season against the Tampa Bay Rays last week with another gem, or will the Brewers play spoiler on the road?

Minnesota Twins vs. Milwaukee Brewers Prediction
The Twins signed Pablo Lopez to a four-year deal after acquiring him from the Miami Marlins this offseason. The 27-year-old has been all over the place in 2023, giving up four or more runs in five of his ten starts this season. Lopez is coming off an impressive seven-inning outing against the Rays in Tampa, where he allowed only five hits and one run. This was by far the best start of the season for Lopez on his new team, and his breaking ball looked sharp as ever. If Lopez is able to replicate that offspeed pitch from last week, he will have immense success against the Brewers tonight, who struggle mightily against off-speed pitches.
Corbin Burnes has been nails and is also coming off the best performance of his season. Burnes allowed only two hits and zero runs through eight innings of work against the Orioles last week. The hard-throwing righty has been locked in over his last three starts, allowing only four earned runs with 24 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched. If Burnes is dialed in, why did the odds on the moneyline flip with the public backing the Brewers, and why are Pablo Lopez’s pitching props all “higher” than Corbin Burnes’ props?
Even though Burnes is the better pitcher on the better team, Lopez’s fantasy score tonight is higher than Burnes’ fantasy score. Lopez’s hits allowed prop is also sitting at 4.5 today after giving up at least five hits in his last five starts. Oddsmakers are showing their hand with these prop projections…
It looks like Lopez may have figured something out with his sweeper against the Rays last week. His off-speed pitch was dominant like it was at times on the Marlins when Lopez had much more success. Sometimes it takes these guys some time to adjust to their new team and ballpark, and I’m willing to back Lopez and the Twins on the moneyline after his legacy outing last week. Sell high on Burnes after his two-hitter, and back the Twins to win tonight.
