The cat is finally out of the bag with Martin Perez. The Texas Rangers’ veteran lefty was an All-Star in 2022 but has allowed four or more runs in half his starts since May. There weren’t many pitchers due for more regression than Martin Perez, who seemed to get out of every jam he was in last season, so it’s not surprising seeing him struggle. Facing the lowly Chicago White Sox, will Perez “right the ship” against Michael Kopech tonight?

Chicago White Sox vs. Texas Rangers Prediction
Speaking of Michael Kopech, the hard-throwing righty has pitched extremely well in his last three starts. After struggling mightily to start the year, Kopech has only allowed three runs in his last three outings. To be fair, he was facing the struggling Seattle Mariners, Miami Marlins, and Detroit Tigers’ offenses. He will be in for a much tougher challenge against debatably the best offense in baseball tonight.
I don’t know who is going to win this game tonight, but there will be plenty of offense. With a total at 9.5, the over looks sketchy on the surface with a previous All-Star and locked-in Kopech on the mound. Don’t be fooled by these “big-name” starters; the total is this high for a reason.
The Rangers’ offense has looked seemingly unstoppable in 2023, and they don’t mind facing high-velocity pitchers. Michael Kopech has been dominant lately, but the Rangers match up well with his fastball-dominant pitch arsenal. Expect Kopech to look more like the pitcher we saw earlier in the season against the high-scoring Rangers.
The White Sox have been one of baseball's best left-handed pitching-facing offenses over the past couple of years. Although they’ve struggled overall in 2023, their splits are no different. Chicago hits well against lefties, and they’ll get to face a soft-throwing lefty tonight whose confidence is at an all-time low. After an electric walk-off win last night, expect the White Sox to bring the energy and put up some great at-bats tonight.
