New York Yankees vs. Seattle Mariners Prediction
Bryan Woo struggled mightily in his MLB debut, where he only pitched two innings before allowing six runs and getting pulled. Well, his two starts following his debut have been much better. He led all of baseball in strikeouts last Friday, where he dealt for 5.2 innings. There’s a reason the 23-year-old is the second-highest pitching prospect in the Mariners’ organization: this kid can pitch.
Tonight, Woo gets to face the worst offense in baseball this month. Although they hit three home runs last night, don’t be fooled. This Yankees lineup simply isn’t the same without Aaron Judge. The Yankees rank bottom-two in nearly every single significant statistical category over their last 15 games, and it won’t get any easier against Woo and this above-average Mariners’ bullpen.
I typically don’t like backing Domingo German. Still, with the total down from 9 to 7.5 and his strikeout prop higher than usual, it looks like he will have success tonight against a Mariners’ lineup that can’t hit right-handed pitching. German got rocked in his last outing, but that was against the Red Sox, one of the hottest offenses in baseball. It’s a great sign for German that this total is down to 7.5, and his matchup is favorable against the Mariners, who are second worst in baseball with 9.69 strikeouts per game.
Less than 50% of bets, but nearly 75% of the handle is currently on the under here. These betting splits are sharp, a great sign for under bettors tonight. Fade both of these struggling offenses and back both Woo and German to dominate in favorable matchups.
