With so many high-level players on today's slate, it can be hard to limit your exposure. In this article, I take you through one of my favorite hitter props on today's MLB slate. Find out why I think Manny Machado and the San Diego Padres take care of business against Patrick Corbin and the Washington Nationals tonight, plus a bonus leg.
MLB Hit Parlay Breakdown
Manny Machado is one of my favorite targets on today's slate. While Machado is finally starting to heat things up, with a hit in his last six outings, this is almost one of those matchups where you would bet him no matter what the recent form is. He is batting .312 in the month of June and has a hit in 12 of his last 14 games, and this is a great spot for him.
As a Nationals fan, I have struggled through the Patrick Corbin experience, and I can tell you that he is one of the most consistently awful pitchers we have in the major leagues. While he's had some solid outings against bad teams this year, I think the Padres should take advantage tonight. Also, don't be scared of this bullpen whatsoever; while Hunter Harvey and Kyle Finnegan are fine at the back of the pen, the long relievers are all extremely hittable.
Additionally, Machado is one of the best hitters against left-handed pitching in the MLB. He has a .371 BA/.587 SLG. He has successfully faced Corbin 18 times in his lifetime, recording an impressive .389 BA/.611 SLG. Corbin is the ultimate gas can; Machado will be in a prime position to tee off. While a hit parlay is a good option, I went with Hits+Runs+RBIs because I trust this whole Padres lineup to take care of business against Corbin, which should generate both runs and rbi opportunities hitting in the middle of a lineup with Xander Bogaerts, Juan Soto, and Fernando Tatis Jr. all around you.
Since the line was -160, I parlayed it with James Kapriellian not to record a win tonight, to bring the odds down to -105. The Oakland Athletics are currently -315 underdogs to win that game, and Kaprielian is currently 1-2 with a 7.27 ERA and 14 walks in 17 innings on the road this season. The Toronto Blue Jays should light up the righty contact pitcher.
