The Braves are coming off an impressive series win on the road against the hottest team in baseball, the Cincinnati Reds. After stealing the last two games of the series by one run, Atlanta heads home where they’ve dominated offensively all year. The over is 25-13-1 at Truist Park this season, thanks to debatably the best offense in baseball playing there.
MLB Parlay Picks Tonight
Tonight, they welcome in Sonny Gray, who’s been one of the most underrated pitchers in baseball this year. Gray has looked hittable recently though, giving up 24 hits over his last four starts. Gray still carries a sub 2.60 ERA on the season, but it’s pretty clear he benefit from facing some of the “weaker” offenses in baseball earlier in the year. Gray will be faced with a much tougher challenge tonight against the Braves, who have won nine of their previous ten games and currently have the highest-scoring offense in baseball this week.
Spencer Strider looked much improved in his most recent start against the Phillies. His velocity was back up, and his breaking ball was elite. After a nine-strikeout game, Strider’s strikeout prop is set at 9.5 tonight. Expect Strider to have at least ten strikeouts and dominate once again: the young flamethrower is back.
The Nationals must be feeling great after earning a series win against the Padres in San Diego last night. Tonight, they face the Mariners’ ace Luis Castillo. I can’t think of a worse matchup for the Nationals than Castillo, a strikeout-heavy RHP with velocity. I wouldn’t be surprised if Castillo pitches a shutout against one of the worst RHP-facing offenses in baseball. Sell high on the Nationals after a series win in San Diego, and back the Mariners to win the first game of their homestand.
I don’t see a world where Spencer Strider doesn’t earn a victory tonight. Expect the Braves to stay hot and win their tenth game in eleven tries. The Mariners have a great matchup against a soft-throwing righty, and Castillo should deal against the lowly Nationals. Don’t be surprised if he shuts out Washington tonight and brings them back to reality after their big win in San Diego.
