In this article, I take you through two very underrated hitters on today’s slate and why I’m betting on them. With so many big names on the slate, find out why I like Jose Abreu and Josh Lowe.
MLB Hit Parlay Today
Jose Abreu is someone that you would not expect me to be targeting in this article. While his season-long stats don’t look great, he has finally started to step up a bit more in this Astros lineup. He was always going to get very good opportunities, and he’s finally starting to take advantage.
Abreu is coming in with good recent form hitting .315 over his last 15 and .302 over this last week. He has at least one hit in 16 of 21 games this month. Additionally, he gets a pitcher in Miles Mikolas, who has allowed 7+ hits in each of his last four outings. He has allowed 108 hits in 93 innings pitched this season and has been fairly consistent, allowing contact against both lefties and righties.
I paired him up with Josh Lowe, who is hitting well in a great matchup. Lowe is coming in batting .385 over his last seven, with an impressive .284 batting average on the season. That improves to .294 against right-handed pitching and stays consistent at home with a .281 BA. I appreciate the consistency, and I think he finds himself in a great spot today.
Lowe is the lefty platoon hitter the Tampa Bay Rays use to crush right-handed pitching, and Zach Davies is the perfect target. He’s been getting crushed this season, with a 1-4 record and a 7.82 ERA, which moves to 9.90 at home. He’s allowed BOTH 5+ hits and 2+ ER in each of his last seven starts. Lefties are killing him as well, batting .337 this season.
