The Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers meet for game three of a four-game series with a 1-1 tie heading into tonight's game. The Tigers took game one before the Rangers tied the series up with a late-inning comeback off the bullpen yesterday. Tonight, it's Joey Wentz on the mound for the Tigers and Dane Dunning on the mound for the Rangers. What can we expect tonight in this game?

Texas Rangers vs. Detroit Tigers Prediction
The Rangers got upset in game one and nearly got upset in game two, but they have a good chance to jump out to an early in game three. Dane Dunning has a 6-1 pitching record and a 2.76 ERA this season, giving him the team the lowest ERA. He pitched back-to-back quality starts against the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays, leading to multi-run wins for the Rangers.
On the other side is Joey Wentz, who I can not speak as highly about. He has a 6.72 ERA this season and has lacked command. He does not have many go-to strikeout pitches and misses his spots a lot, leading to free baserunners and lots of runs. The Tigers have lost four Wentz starts in a row, and he has not found much consistency this season. There are not too many good things to say about Wentz, as he has only one quality start ALL season. Unfortunately, he does not have a good matchup against the Rangers tonight.
The Rangers rank second overall in the MLB with a .294 average against left-handed pitching, and they are second in OPS as well, just below the Braves. The Rangers have been crushing lefties this season and have a .301 average against lefties at home. Wentz has been struggling even against lower-tier lineups, so this matchup is a nightmare for him.
The Rangers have actually been trailing after the first five in both games in this series, and I think this is a perfect game for them to jump out to an early lead and cover the first five line tonight. There's a little juice involved, but this is a play I'm jumping all over.
