Texas Rangers vs. Detroit Tigers Prediction: Will Dane Dunning, Rangers Take Control?

Last night, the Texas Rangers bounced back from dropping the series' opening game in a rather strong showing as they took the lead in the sixth inning and never looked back, piling on the runs on their way to an 8-3 victory. It took just one night for Texas to regain the lead in the league for run differential at +152 on the season, and they have a chance to extend that number tonight.

Texas Rangers vs. Detroit Tigers Prediction

The Detroit Tigers bullpen has been worked a lot lately, and they need Southpaw Joey Wentz to go out there and put up some innings tonight, but I just do not know if he is capable of it. Wentz is 1-8 with a brutal 6.72 ERA on the year and is about to square off with one of the best teams against left-handed pitching in the league. Texas has the second-best OPS against lefties in the league, is coming off eight runs in their last three innings last night, and has a chance to win the series tonight.

Texas is 25-14 at home this season, and Dane Dunning has been outstanding all season long. Dunning is currently sporting a 2.76 ERA with a 6-1 record, and I am always willing to back him at home. I love how this Rangers squad is playing, and I truly believe they are a force to be reckoned with this season, back the more talented team to take control here.
