ANALYSIS

MLB Same-Game Parlay Picks Today: Phillies vs. Cubs, Dodgers vs. Rockies

It's a getaway day for many teams in the MLB. Therefore, there will be more day games on the slate.

However, depending on your location, the MLB Network will carry the Phillies-Cubs and Dodgers-Rockies matchups. Therefore, I'll assemble a couple of same-game parlays for the later games on the slate that you can consider.

MLB Same-Game Parlays for Thursday

Phillies vs. Cubs Same-Game Parlay

3-Leg Same-Game Parlay Odds (+644) (Bet $100 to collect $744) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds for this pick

  • Ian Happ Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105)
  • Taijuan Walker Over 4.5 Ks (+128)
  • Mike Tauchman Over .5 Hits (-260)

Taijuan Walker will take the hill for the Phillies tonight. Walker has only struck out 20.5% of batters this season. But that number has continued to rise over the last 30 days. He's struck out 24.3% of batters in the previous month.

Walker has also allowed an ISO of .106 and wOBA of .228 to his last 115 batters. So he's had a great last 30 days. However, he's still allowed 162 lefties to hit a .173 ISO. He's struggling to earn strikeouts against lefties and has allowed 47.6% of hard contact against them this season.

Ian Happ will bat from the left side, and he's been hot against righties. He's hit a .246 ISO and wOBA of .358 in the last 30 days against righties. Meanwhile, Mike Tauchman could lead off for the Cubs tonight. He's another lefty hitting a .170 ISO and wOBA of .339 against righties in the last month.

But while the Cubs might get some hits with their lefties, Walker should still be able to go deep in tonight's game. The Cubs have six batters hitting an ISO of .115 or worse in the last month against righties. He'll have five or more strikeout if he throws a quality starts.

Dodgers vs. Rockies Same-Game Parlay

3-Leg Same-Game Parlay Odds (+450) (Bet $100 to collect $550) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds for this pick

  • Emmet Sheehan Over 4.5 Ks (-106)
  • Mookie Betts Over 1.5 Total Bases (-160)
  • Freddie Freeman Over 1.5 Total Bases (-160)

Chase Anderson will get the call for the Rockies. It hasn't been pretty for Anderson recently. He's allowed his last 55 lefties to hit an ISO of .417 with a wOBA of .510. Meanwhile, his previous 49 righties have hit a .311 and a wOBA of .442.

This is the perfect matchup for the top Dodgers bats. Mookie Betts, a righty, has hit a .192 ISO and woBA of .337 against righties in the last 30 days. Freddie Freeman has slugged a .325 wOBA and has struck out only 18.8% of the time. Both batters should get plenty of opportunity to smash Anderson in Coors Field tonight.

On the other hand, Emmet Sheehan will get another start for the Dodgers. He's thrown against 42 batters this year and has struck out 16.7% of batters.

Tonight, he'll face a Rockies lineup that has struck out 25% of the time against righties. Colorado only has one batter striking out under 22% of the time against righties in the last 30 days. Sheehan will be more comfortable and mow down the Rockies' order in tonight's start.
