Tonight the Houston Astros are in St. Louis for the final game of this inter-league match-up with the Cardinals, and I think we see both squads continue to swing the sticks well and put runs on the board for us tonight.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Houston Astros Prediction

I am a Cardinals fan born and raised, I love Adam Wainwright, but we have seen very little of his vintage self this season, and he is consistently letting other squads get on the board. Opponents are batting north of .340 and sporting an OPS just shy of a thousand with a strong .962.

Against a lineup as talented and potent as the Astros, that could be trouble, especially as they seem to be slowly waking up and turning into the squad we are used to them being the last few seasons. Despite the rough stretch and absence of Yordan Alvarez, this Houston team can still rake, and they showed us that last night when they dropped ten.

The Cardinals are having a less-than-impressive season, to say the very least, and it is well below their standard, but the team is still uber-talented with a lot of really good pieces, both veteran and young, that can click and flip the switch easily.

The bats are there, they can score, and they have a lot of power; they have been in a lot of games they lost this year, and they are not getting blown out. Even with the pitching staff struggling, they still are putting up a lot of innings, and tonight, I am hoping that Waino does enough to keep the Birds in the game but give a few up as well. The over is 23-15 this season at Busch Stadium.
