Fernando Tatis Jr. To Record a Hit
Fernando Tatis Jr. is coming off a rough series at Pittsburgh, going 1 for 14, but I’m expecting him to bounce back in this spot. Although he struggled in the last series, he is still hitting a .324 average in the month of June. He will see a struggling Graham Ashcraft, who is allowing a .347 AVG to right-handed batters at home this season. Ashcraft’s top three pitches are a cutter, sinker, and slider, all of which Tatis hits well - .380/.333/.338 xBAs. Tatis also tends to play very well on Fridays. He has 1+ hits in his last 11 Friday games, with 2+ hits in six of his last eight.
Juan Soto To Record 2+ Total Bases
I love this spot for Juan Soto today. Soto has been crushing right-handed pitching these last few weeks, with a .440 AVG since June 19. His numbers look great in road games versus right-handed pitching this season, with a .302 AVG and .326 ISO. He has seen Ashcraft once already this season, where he went two for three with two doubles, and I expect him to be able to get us two bases today in a very hitter-friendly park.
Juan Soto To Record 1+ RBIs
I think this is a great spot for Soto to drive in at least one run today. He has at least 1 RBI in five of his last six games versus the Cincinnati Reds (11 Total) and has a great chance of seeing 5+ PAs with it being a road game and a high total of 11 (O/U). When he sees 5+ PAs, he has recorded an RBI in six of his last eight games. I’m expecting a lot of baserunners today for the San Diego Padres, and I think Juan will find himself in some good situations seeing multiple at-bats with runners in scoring positions.
Elly De La Cruz To Record 2+ Total Bases
I’m backing Elly De La Cruz today for a few reasons. He has been crushing right-handed pitching since being called up, hitting .367 against them. He has played great at home so far, accumulating a .429 average and .607 ISO versus right-handed pitching. He will see Seth Lugo, who has not been anything special verse left-handed batters this season, allowing a .287 AVG against. Lugo will primarily throw his curveball and 4-seam fastball to left-handed batters, which De La Cruz has crushed with a .313 average/.375 ISO to 4-seams and .429 AVG/.714 ISO to curveballs (versus right-handed pitching).
