In today's article, I take you through one of my favorite batter props on the MLB slate. The Washington Nationals and Philadelphia Phillies meet in Citizens Bank Park, and I'm expecting sparks to fly on both sides of the diamond tonight.

As a Nationals fan, Lane Thomas has been one of my favorite targets all season long. He has been one of the few bright spots on this below-average Nationals team. He’s hitting .298 on the season and has been the heart and soul of this Washington lineup from the lead-off spot. He gets a matchup against Christopher Sanchez, a young guy we don’t have much data on. Thomas has taken down some of the best pitchers in the games this season, so I’m not worried here.
While his overall stats have been good this season, his stats against lefties immediately jump out. Thomas is batting .378 against left-handed pitching this season, a full .120 points higher than against right-handed pitching. The slugging numbers are also great against lefties, hitting .694, a full .260 points higher than right-handed pitching.
Thomas has seven home runs and 16 XBH in 98 ABs against lefties, and he’s coming in with some great recent form. Thomas has hit this number in 17 of his last 21 games, but we still get a low number due to Washington’s lower implied team totals. Thomas obviously has great run equity hitting at the top of this order with the heart of the order behind him, but he also has some good RBI equity with the bottom of the Washington lineup having multiple guys hitting over .300 versus left-handed pitching in the 8/9 hole, not something I think is baked into the price enough.
