For our second wager tonight, we are taking a bed that we have not taken much this year, but I do love the spot, and I think it is a good opportunity to attack. The red-hot New York Mets are in San Diego to battle with the Padres, and we are diving into the first five innings in this one. We have a great pitching matchup between Justin Verlander and Yu Darvish to go along with two very talented squads; the only thing left to do is dive into the game and break down which side we are backing.

Neither starting pitcher is having the typical dominant year they are used to, but regression will happen even to the best, especially down the stretch in your career. I know Justin Verlander is not getting any younger, but I still love the man, and I actually think that even now, he has the edge in this one. Yu Darvish has not been great by his standards and lately has struggled, much like his team.
In the last two weeks, San Diego has really underperformed and seems to be just treading water. They have lost series’ top to teams they had no business losing too; that squad is too talented to keep losing, yet I cannot trust them until they prove me wrong. On the flip side of things, the New York Mets are actually playing really good baseball and seem to be in control of their season somewhat for the first time all year.
The Mets are 7-3 in the F5 run line in their last ten games, while San Diego is the polar opposite, 3-7. I do not care that this is the first game of the series at home for the Friars; I am fading.
