Ben Lively will make his return to the mound tonight. He was on the injured list but will return right before the All-Star break for the Reds.
Lively has struck out 26.4% of righties on the season and has only walked 6.6%.
He will face a Brewers lineup that has hit a .124 ISO and wOBA of .309. This projected lineup has also struck out close to 25% of the time against righties in the last month.
Lively should face more righties than lefties tonight. Those righties have struck out 27.1% of the time against righties in the last 30 days. Lively didn't even need a rehab start for the Reds to be comfortable with Lively starting again. He'll be able to get through five innings and should be able to earn a strikeout per inning with the way the Brewers match up.

Kyle Freeland has only struck out 14.9% of batters this season. That's extremely low, but I'm on his Over 3.5 Ks.
Let me explain.
Freeland has struck out 33.3% of his last 24 lefties faced. He rarely faces lefties, but the Giants should have three lefties in the lineup tonight. That gives Freeland plenty of opportunities to earn at least four strikeouts.
Two of the three lefties in the lineup have struck out at least 23.5% of the time against lefties. Freeland rarely gets to face this many lefties. Let's attack while we can.

It's been a struggle for Logan Webb against righties. He's only struck out 14.5% of righties in the last month.
However, this season, he's struck out 24.2% of righties. The decline isn't encouraging, but I'd like to think he'll jump back to higher strikeouts against righties moving forward.
The Rockies have hit a .146 ISO and have struck out 23.8% of the time against righties in the last month.
Meanwhile, Webb has struck out 32.4% of lefties in the last 30 days and will face four lefties who have combined to strike out 27.7% of the time against righties in the last 30 days. Plus, two righties are striking out at least 26.2% of the time against other righties in the last month in this projected Rockies lineup.
I'll back Webb to get at least six strikeouts in today's game.
