Baltimore Orioles vs. Miami Marlins Prediction
The public seems to be jumping back on the Sandy bandwagon after two quality starts in his last three outings. If you’ve watched him pitch this season, he looked much different than his dominant 2022 self. Sandy owned a 2.28 ERA last year and nearly doubled that in 2023.
It’s no fluke that Sandy has struggled; his stuff simply isn’t there. This Orioles’ offense should feast against the high-velo righty in their home ballpark tonight. Their bats’ awoke the week before the All-Star break, don’t expect them to slow down tonight against a struggling right-hander.
The Orioles are a (-140) favorite, with Dean Kremer on the mound tonight. Unless they’re playing the Oakland Athletics, Kremer shouldn’t be (-140) against anyone. Maybe oddsmakers think Kremer figured something out in his last outing, where he dealt for seven innings and ten strikeouts against the New York Yankees…
The books are giving the Orioles serious respect with their moneyline up to (-140). It’s not like the Marlins have been struggling. They have one less win than the Orioles up to this point. The oddsmakers must have seen something they liked with Kremer in his last outing for the Orioles to be this heavy of a favorite against a Marlins team that stacks up fairly evenly.
Back the Orioles to start the second half of their already impressive season with a win tonight. This Orioles team finds ways to win, especially at home, and I’m not ready to buy back into the Sandy hype just yet.
