The Los Angeles Angels notched a comeback victory over the New York Yankees last night in their series opener. Can they build off that win and take the series' first two games? Let’s break it down.

Shohei Ohtani was the savior for the Los Angeles Angels yet again last night as he blasted a two-run homer late in the game with two outs to tie the game, which ultimately gave the Angels enough momentum to win it in the bottom of the 10th.

Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Yankees Prediction
Ohtani continues on his blistering homerun pace, and he, as well as this Angels lineup, gets a favorable matchup against Domingo German tonight. Yes, German threw a perfect game a few starts ago, but when you look at his entire body of work on the season, he has been extremely inconsistent and very pedestrian overall. German does not have a blistering fastball and mostly relies on a repertoire of pitches to induce soft contact. In short, when German makes mistakes, they get hit harder because he does not have the velocity to get away with said mistakes when left in the middle of the plate.
This Angels lineup has been a bit inconsistent other than Ohtani, but they do possess a decent amount of power, and I believe they will tag German for at least a few long balls tonight. On the other side for the Angels will be Patrick Sandoval, who has relatively similar numbers compared to German. The thing I like about Sandoval, though, after watching him the last few seasons, is that he is a grinder. He may allow a decent amount of baserunners, but he flashes his best stuff in tough situations and wiggles out of a lot of jams.
This Yankees lineup is already struggling with scoring runs and hitting guys in with runners in scoring position or with two outs. It won’t get easier for them in those categories against Sandoval tonight. With that being said, I am rolling with Angels F5 ML at -110 and Angels Full Game ML at -106 for 1U each as my most confident MLB plays of the day, as I think the Halos get the job done tonight.
