5 minTexas Rangers vs. Tampa Bay Rays Best Bet: Can the Rays Surprise the Rangers?
Last night, the Texas Rangers walked off the Tampa Bay Rays on a walk-off wild pitch. We knew this series was going to be electric, as two of the best teams in the American League battle it out, but we didn’t know it was going to be this wild. These games feel like a playoff-type atmosphere, and the nerves may have gotten to Pete Fairbanks in the biggest moment last night. Will Tampa Bay rebound and show that they are truly deserving of the best record in the American League?

Texas Rangers vs. Tampa Bay Rays Prediction
It won’t be easy for Tampa Bay to avenge their embarrassing loss in game one of this series. Nathan Eovaldi, one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, takes the mound for Texas on Tuesday. Eovaldi is having a career year in his twelfth MLB season, but it hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows for the 33-year-old recently. He was roughed up in the All-Star Game last week and gave up four runs on five hits in one of his worst starts of the season in his most recent start. Tampa may be able to get to a vulnerable Eovaldi when the public least expects it…
The Rays haven’t been nearly as dominant over the last month of the season as they were for the majority of the first half. They still sit 23 games above .500 on the year. Although it hasn’t been pretty, this team finds ways to win unlike any other. If anyone can get to Eovaldi, it’s this pesky Rays’ offense. It’s worth noting that this Rays’ lineup performs well against Eovaldi’s pitch mix, and Globe Life Field is expected to produce some very friendly hitting conditions for tonight’s contest. With the total on the rise from 8 to 9 on some books, it doesn’t look like Eovaldi will be shutting the Rays out tonight.
The Rays are ten cents shorter on the moneyline, but nearly 70% of bets and handle backing the Rangers. This reverse line movement is a great sign for Rays backers, as they are clearly the sharp side in this contest. With the public backing, Eovaldi to dominate, fade the public, and bet the Rays to even up this heavyweight series between two of baseball’s best.
