Colorado Rockies vs. Houston Astros Prediction
Brandon Bielak has been consistent all year long. He goes over five innings in almost every single start this year. Bielak has gone over his line (14.5) in eight of his last nine starts, including a seven Inning (21 out) outing against the Rockies, albeit in Houston, not Colorado.
Colorado has not been pretty bad as of late, even at home. They are batting .208 in the last 14 days at home against right-handed batters, good for the bottom ten in the MLB. The Rockies don't typically draw out long at-bats, either. They rank bottom five in the MLB at walk rate and on-base percentage in the last month.
The main reason Im behind Bielak today is his style of pitching. Bielak is predominantly a ground ball pitcher, which should work wonders for him at Coors Field. Bielak has a 52% ground ball percentage this year and allows a fly ball under 22% of the time. Both stats should fair very well for the right-hander, as we all know the fly balls in Coors Field tend to fly. With all of this, plus his ability to not go long into the at-bats, I like for Bielak to get through five innings today versus the Rockies.
