They’ve come out hot in the second half, winning five of their six games post-All-Star break. The Cardinals are finally playing like the team we all expected to win their division and make a run at another World Series.

Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals Prediction
Tonight, the Cardinals will face a familiar opponent in Marcus Stroman, who happens to be having a career year. St. Louis has already faced the “Stro Show” twice this season, once in London (they roughed him up for six runs) and once in Chicago when Stroman dealt for six innings. Which version of Stroman will we see tonight?
The hitting conditions in London were extremely favorite, so you have to take his blowup start in London with a grain of salt. Unfortunately for Stroman, the majority of this Cardinals’ lineup has seen him before and had great success against him, especially Paul Goldschmidt, Tommy Edman, and Brendan Donovan. These are the same guys who have led the way offensively throughout St. Louis’ five-game win streak.
I don’t see anyone getting in the way of this Cardinals’ team right now. They’ve come out of the All-Star break with the intensity and offensive production we’ve been waiting for all year. Tonight, they’ll look to extend their win streak against an arm they are very familiar with…
Although Stroman still carries a sub-3.00 ERA, he’s struggled for the majority of June. He gave up nine combined runs against the Cleveland Guardians and Milwaukee Brewers before bouncing back against the Boston Red Sox in Chicago last week. The wheels are starting to fall off the wagon for Stroman, who’s out-pitched his expected numbers for months. It won’t get any easier for the Stro Show tonight against one of the hottest lineups in baseball.
The Cubs are getting nearly 80% of the current betting handle on the moneyline (per VSIN), but the odds haven’t moved toward Chicago at all. Clearly, the books are content with being overexposed on the Cubs tonight, with the public heavily backing Stroman. Fade the public, and bet the Cardinals to win their sixth game in a row.
