The 29-year-old flamethrower has allowed no more than one earned run in three of his previous four outings. Ryan O’Hearn has provided a much-needed spark in the middle of this Orioles lineup since joining the club this offseason. Whether he’s been at first base or DH’ing, the 29-year-old is having a career year at the plate. O’Hearn is hitting .305 in 151 at-bats this season. His only weakness has been his slightly above-average strikeout rate, which is currently sitting at a little over 25%. Hitting in the four-hole tonight could pose problems for the O’s lefty if he has to face Glasnow three or four times.
Glasnow’s stuff has gotten better throughout the season. He’s coming off five consecutive starts with at least seven strikeouts, including two starts with 10+ Ks. Although Baltimore is ranked inside the top ten in strikeouts per game, oddsmakers seem to be showing Glasnow some respect by setting his strikeout prop at eight tonight. The Orioles barely average eight strikeouts a game…
It might be a small sample size, but O’Hearn does have a history of striking out against Glasnow. In four at-bats against the righty, he’s 0-4 with three strikeouts. Don’t be surprised if he doubles that strikeout total in tonight’s game alone. You can bet O’Hearn to strike out twice at (+100) tonight. Glasnow is dialed in right now and should have double-digit strikeouts for the third time in five starts…some of those have to come from O’Hearn.
