We typically go with the player builders, but on Friday, I want to change that up. We have a brilliant spot to go for a ladder here today, so I am going with one of my patented pitcher ladders in this spot.
Kodai Senga has been an absolute sensation for the New York Mets. In a rotation that has Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer, he has been the best pitcher for the Mets. Braxton Garrett is in a similar boat where he is shining on what is a stacked Miami Marlins pitching rotation. Can these two continue their stellar seasons in a fantastic strikeout matchup for the pair?

Kodai Senga has hit his line (5.5) in six straight games, 10 of his last 11 games, and 14 of 17 starts on the year overall. He is averaging 8.6 strikeouts in his last five starts and is currently in the top 10% of K/Inning and K/9 this season in the MLB. Senga also has been fantastic away from home, with a hit in five straight games and in seven of eight games overall.
The matchup seems weak from the outset, the Boston Red Sox rank 26th versus right-handed pitching strikeout percentage, but they have been trending down as of late. They are down to 11th in the last 20 days and have five good strikeout matchups in their lineups right now.
Braxton Garrett is coming off a couple of poor starts, but we know he has been an elite strikeout pitcher for most of the season. He has hit his (5.5) line in five of his last six starts at home and 9 of his last 13 overall starts as well.
The matchup is just brilliant for Garrett. Colorado is ranked the third worst for the season against left-handed arms, fourth worst in the last seven days, and fourth worst in the last month as well. They have struggled versus lefties all year, and I expect Garrett and Miami to compile on their misery.
