This is a pretty straightforward bet. Joe Musgrove has hit this prop in nine of his last ten straight starts and now gets my hometown team, the Detroit Tigers.
Detroit Tigers vs. San Diego Padres Prediction
This will be relatively short because it’s a clear-cut bet, and we’re running low on time. Musgrove is an elite pitcher; the man holds a 0.95 ERA in the month of July so far and faces a team that will likely be selling at the trade deadline. Detroit hits just .227 against righties, and the Tigers lineup today is 2-19 lifetime against him.
Detroit will try their hardest to avoid the sweep, but the San Diego Padres are just vastly more talented at this stage, and Musgrove is in line to pitch a gem. I have him allowing one or two runs at the most and going six innings. Detroit is still so young and inexperienced, and Musgrove is pitching elite baseball right now.
