The second total we are diving into on the board tonight is the National League matchup between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
At this point in the season, these two squads are in different places than they have been in recent years. Arizona is just three games out of first place in their division with a strong record of 54-46 while St. Louis is struggling sitting at 44-56. They appeared to have flipped a switch, having won eight of ten games after the opening game of their last series with Chicago on Thursday night with a chance to seriously gain ground on the division before dropping the next three games in the series to fall back to earth again.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction
St. Louis is entering a vital stretch of their season if they want to still make a run with their very talented squad, so I expect we see a lot from the bats over the next few weeks. This lineup is very potent and loaded with talent, they can and have hit like sluggers for much of the season and it should hopefully continue while it matters most.
Arizona has been phenomenal though, as I said in my article last week, and I love that core group of predominately young guys taking the team into their hands. The Diamondbacks are hitting incredibly well this season, although Adam Wainwright has historically found success against this lineup, holding them to a slash line of .208/.263/.228, this season has been a struggle for the veteran. I would love to see a vintage performance from a childhood star but we haven't seen it in a while, especially on the road where his splits have drastically changed over the last few years.
The last six games between these squads went over and did it easily, I expect fireworks in game one.
