Marcus Stroman has had an excellent season to this point as he comes into this game with a 10-7 record and a stellar ERA that is sitting just above three. Stroman is a very crafty right-handed pitcher who is known to mix up his delivery in an attempt to throw off hitters' timing, and it usually works.

Chicago White Sox vs. Chicago Cubs Prediction
Stroman induces a lot of soft contact and has fairly good command, which allows him to nibble at the corners and possibly take advantage of an umpire’s wider strike zone. Tonight he will be facing the Chicago White Sox, who are having a season to forget. Coming into the season, the White Sox were thought to be contenders in the typically weak AL Central, but those hopes were short-lived after a dreadful April/May.
The Sox have somewhat played better into the summer months, but they still enter tonight’s game with a record of 41-61, and part of their woes this season are largely due to the decline of tonight’s starter, Lance Lynn. Lynn enters this start with a record of 6-9 and an ERA over 6. Lynn has been hammered this season and just looks like a completely different pitcher compared to a few years ago. Lynn has been known to rely heavily on his fastball, but it has been getting tattooed this year by opposing hitters.
Lynn has also somewhat struggled with his command as he is leaving fastballs over the heart of the plate and is also walking more hitters as he enters with a WHIP of 1.44. Lynn has also been really bad at home this season and will be facing a Cubs lineup that has been red-hot over the past four games, as they have won four in a row and have scored at least seven runs in their last three games.
I will say this line is a bit fishy, considering that it's nearly a pick 'em given how good Stroman has been and how atrocious Lynn has performed, but I think the Cubbies stay hot tonight and take advantage of an aging Lynn. With that being said, I am rolling with Cubs F5 ML at -110 and Cubs Full Game ML at -106 for 1U each as my most confident MLB plays of the day.
