MLB Parlay Today
Christian Yelich to Record a Hit
I am taking Christian Yelich to get us one hit today. Yelich is one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now and has recorded a hit in 18 of his last 20 games, with six hits in his last three games. He’ll see a familiar matchup against Ben Lively, who he has had some success against the past few seasons. He is 4 for 11 against Lively, with a hit in three out of four matchups. Below are some more reasons I like Yelich today.
- .394/.344 Expected AVGs versus Lively’s top two pitches to left-handed batters (versus right-handed pitching)
- .444 AVG versus right-handed pitching since July 16th
- Lively .276 Road AVG allowed
Josh Naylor to Record a Hit
Although Josh Naylor went hitless yesterday, we’re still going to back him today in a great matchup. Naylor will see the rookie Alec Marsh who has had some solid starts but is still giving up a lot of hits and runs. He owns a 6.20 ERA and has allowed a .267 AVG and .600 ISO on the road versus left-handed batters. Below are a few more reasons I like Naylor to get a hit today.
- 1+ hit in 20 of the last 23 games with 2+ plate appearances
- 1+ hit in 15 of the last 17 games versus the Kansas City Royals
- .309 AVG in day games
- .318 AVG versus right-handed pitching
- .329 AVG in July
Ketel Marte to Record a Hit
I’m also taking Ketel Marte to record a hit today. Marte has been a hit machine as of late, going for one hit in 13 of the last 15 games with 2+ hits in four of the last five games. He gets to face off against Jack Flaherty, a guy that he went two for three with a home run against earlier this season. Below are a few other reasons I’m backing him today.
- .429 AVG versus right-handed pitching since July 16th
- Flaherty .310 AVG allowed to left-handed batters
- .286/.324 AVGs versus Flaherty’s top two pitches to left-handed batters (versus right-handed pitching)
CJ Abrams to Record a Hit
The last leg of the parlay is for CJ Abrams to record a hit. Abrams comes into this game swinging a hot bat. He has a hit in 12 of the last 14 games, with 2+ hits in eight of those. He will see a nice matchup with Peter Lambert, who is allowing a very high .354 AVG to left-handed batters this season. Below are a few more reasons I am backing Abrams to get a hit.
- .318 AVG at home versus right-handed pitching
- .299 AVG in day games
- .347 AVG in July
