MLB Parlay Today
Christian Yelich to Record a Hit
I am taking Christian Yelich to get us one hit today. Yelich is one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now. Since July 20th, he has been hitting .455 versus right-handed pitching and is on a seven-game hit streak. With it being a road game for the Brewers and Yelich leading off, he should easily see five plate appearances. When Yelich gets 5+ PAs, he has recorded a hit in 27 of his last 28 games. Below are some more reasons I like Yelich today.
- 1+ hit in 19 of the last 21 games
- .341 AVG in July
- .352 Road AVG since June 13th
- Yonny Chirinos .298 Expected AVG allowed this season (ranks in the bottom third percentile)
Ronald Acuna Jr. to Record a Hit
I’m taking Ronald Acuna Jr. for a hit today. He sees a familiar face in Adrian Houser, a righty he just saw last week. Acuna has had tons of success in this matchup, as he is 5 for 10 against Houser in his career, and I expect more of the same today. Below are a few more reasons I like Acuna today.
- .307/.370/.346 Expected AVGs versus Houser’s top three pitches to right-handed batters (versus right-handed pitching)
- 1+ hit in 13 of the last 14 home games
- .325 home AVG versus right-handed pitching
- Houser .321 road AVG allowed to right-handed batters
Luis Arraez to Record a Hit
I also like Luis Arraez to get us a base knock. Arraez has been so reliable at home this season, especially against right-handed pitching. He has a .434 home AVG against right-handed pitching this season and gets a matchup with Reese Olson, who has struggled as of late, allowing 13 hits over his last two starts. Below are a few more reasons I’m betting on Luis Arraez today.
- 2+ hits in four of the last six games
- 1+ hit in 20 of the last 22 home games
- Olson .267 road AVG allowed to left-handed batters
- .355/.448 AVGs versus Olson’s top two pitches to left-handed batters (versus right-handed pitching)
Eloy Jimenez to Record a Hit
The last leg of the parlay is Eloy Jimenez to record a hit. Eloy comes into this game recording a hit in seven straight, including 2+ hits in five out of those seven, and I think he stays hot in this matchup. Below are a few more reasons I am backing him for a hit.
- .314 AVG at home this season
- 1+ hit in seven of the last seven home starts versus Cleveland
- .289 AVG versus right-handed pitching this season
- Xzavion Curry .285 expected AVG allowed (ranks in the bottom seventh percentile)
