What better way to celebrate dinger Tuesday than with a dinger parlay? This one is just two legs but packs a nice +1704 return if these two can go yard for us. With a heat wave moving through much of the US, I'm taking advantage of the hot and humid weather with these picks. Let's get right into it.
MLB Home Run Parlay
Leg 1: Austin Riley
The first leg is going to be Austin Riley at +310 to homer on FanDuel. July was Austin Riley's month, as he was tied with Manny Machado and Max Muncy for the most home runs in the month of July with nine. Two of Riley's nine home runs have come in his last four games. Riley also started slowly in July, as eight of those nine home runs came in the last 12 games in July. Simply put, he has been a home run machine, and that is bad news for Patrick Sandoval, a lefty pitcher.
Most of Riley's damage has come against lefty pitchers. Seven of Riley's 24 home runs this season have come against lefty pitchers, while he has only had 75 at-bats against lefties and 337 against righties, meaning he has a 9% home run rate against lefties and just a 5% home run rate against righties. Riley has also hit most of his home runs at home, where he is hitting .308 on the season. Riley is hot right now, and he is averaging a home run almost every ten at-bats against lefties this season. I love him to hit a dinger tonight at over +300 odds.
Leg 2: Luis Robert Jr.
The second leg is going to be Luis Robert Jr., another lefty crusher, at +340 odds on FanDuel. The 25-year-old is simply CRUSHING lefties this season, as he is seventh in the MLB with a 1.029 OPS against lefties. He only has 84 at-bats against left-handed pitchers, but he has six home runs to go along with his incredibly high OPS.
Luis Robert actually had a slower month of July home run-wise, hitting only five, but his power has not vanished. He has been hitting the warning track non-stop, and he had at least one extra-base hit in 14 of his 23 games in July, including an extra-base hit in six of his last eight games. He has some of the hardest-hitting power in the White Sox lineup, and that will come in handy against Andrew Heaney, a guy he has had success against. Luis Robert is 2-5 off Heaney with a home run. He should also go yard tonight.
