Chicago Cubs vs. Cincinnati Reds Prediction
Yesterday, there were 29 combined runs scored in this game. While that is definitely a lot, it's not surprising for either of these offenses right now. The Reds and Cubs are two of the hottest offenses in the league right now. Over the last 15 days, the Cubs have scored the most runs in the MLB BY FAR with 89, while the Reds have scored the third most at 66. The Cubs have an MLB-high .301 team batting average over this time as well. So while 20 runs is a lot in one game, the Cub's offense is truly just feeling it right now. They are averaging 6.8 runs per game in the last 15 days.
The Cubs face lefty Brandon Williamson, who has a 4.48 ERA on the season and a 4.56 ERA on the road. Williamson has already pitched in Wrigley Field this season, where he gave up four earned runs in 4.1 innings. The Cubs are so hot right now that they should easily put up 6-7 runs, which has been their average the last few weeks.
