Miami Marlins vs. Philadelphia Phillies Prediction
The squad from The City of Brotherly Love is down in Miami looking to sweep this three-game series with the Marlins after some ninth-inning heroics that secured a victory from the jaws of defeat for them last night.
Zach Wheeler has been spectacular for Philadelphia lately, as they have won eight of his last nine starts, and he has dominated Miami in his career. This season his numbers alone are strong enough to back him at 8-5 with a 3.74 ERA, but it gets better; against Miami, Wheeler is 10-4 with a 2.46 ERA.
Braxton Garret has lost two of his last three starts and allowed ten runs in those losses. Garret has been fine with an ERA just over four and a 5-3 record on the season, but a lot of his success came earlier in the year, and he seems to be losing his luck.
This Philly squad was able to win another game last night that looked like a loss until the very last minute; you have to capitalize on that and ride the momentum here. Leaving this series 3-0 and ten games above .500 would be a great result for Philadelphia here, and considering they have the chance to do that tonight between one of their best arms, I am going to back them to do it.
