Hyun Jin Ryu had a successful run with the Los Angeles Dodgers, but it has not translated over to the Toronto Blue Jays just yet. Can he put together a solid outing tonight against the Cleveland Guardians? Let's break it down.

Hyun Jin Ryu got hit pretty hard in his first start of the season, as he allowed nine hits and four earned runs in only five innings of work. While this opening start may give Toronto Blue Jay fans pause for concern, you have to remember that start came against the Baltimore Orioles, who are currently first in the Division as they have one of the more high-powered offenses in the American League.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction
The Cleveland Guardians do not possess nearly as much power as the Orioles, and they even traded away one of their main power bats at the deadline, as Josh Bell is no longer with the team. Cleveland is transitioning to more of a youth movement with some of their young players to go along with their superstar Jose Ramirez, and there have been some growing pains with their offense over the last few weeks.
On the other side, the Blue Jays are playing quite well at the moment, as they have won three games in a row and are coming off a series sweep of the Boston Red Sox. In those three games, they tallied 25 total runs for an average of over eight runs per game, and I really think that offensive success will continue tonight against young right-handed starter Gavin Williams. Williams has had some success in his young career to this point, but going up against a hot Blue Jays lineup should be a huge challenge for him.
I also fully expect Ryu to have a bounce-back start against a fairly weak and power-challenged Guardians lineup. With that being said, I am rolling with Blue Jays F5 ML at -128 and Blue Jays Full Game ML at -121 for 1.5u EACH for a 3u total position on the Blue Jays for my most confident MLB Plays of the Day.
