Los Angeles Angels vs. San Francisco Giants Same-Game Parlay
(SFG) Wilmer Flores 2+ Total Bases
I like Wilmer Flores tonight to get us two or more total bases. Flores has gone for 2+ total bases in 11 of his last 15 games with two or more plate appearances and has been hitting left-handed pitching extremely well this season. He has been hitting .486 with a .244 ISO against lefties since July 5th and will see Patrick Sandoval. He is 1 for 2 with a home run versus Sandoval in his career. Sandoval’s top two pitches to right-handed batters are his 4-seam fastball and changeup, two pitches that Wilmer Flores has hit well against lefties. He owns a .429 and .400 AVG to these two pitches (versus lefties) and has a solid chance at seeing five plate appearances tonight which would improve our chances.
(LAA) Shohei Ohtani to Record a Hit
I like Shohei Ohtani to get us one hit tonight against Logan Webb. Ohtani comes into this game with a hit in nine of his last ten games, and I think he can keep this streak going. Logan Webb has been solid this season but is much more prone to allowing hits on the road, with a .264 AVG allowed this season. He does not walk many batters, especially lefties, with a 3.6% BB rate against them. His top two pitches to lefties are his sinker and his changeup, which Ohtani has .286 and .391 expected AVGs against this season to right-handed pitchers.
(SFG) Logan Webb 5+ Strikeouts
The last leg I am adding to the parlay is Logan Webb to get us five strikeouts. Webb has recorded five or more strikeouts in 17 of his last 21 starts and gets a matchup with the Angels, a team that has the 5th highest strikeout rate this season and over the last 30 days. They have allowed the last 13 right-handed pitchers they have faced to get at least five strikeouts, and I see no reason why that streak doesn’t get to 14 tonight.
