The second wager we are diving into on the diamond tonight will actually be the one to kick off the evening edition of our wagers, as the first pitch will come right around 5:40 pm CST. as the Philadelphia Phillies host the Washington Nationals. I am ready for the bats to get going in this one.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Washington Nationals Prediction
Washington is not a squad I would normally be too amped up about offensively, but they head into this one swinging it well, and I like them to do some damage against Ranger Suarez tonight. Through 84 at-bats against current Washington hitters, Suarez has been knocked around quite a bit, striking out just eleven batters while sporting a .333/.359/.545 slash line against. I do not expect the Nationals to control this game, but they ride into the contest on a four-game win streak averaging 5.2 runs across their last five, so I do not expect them to lay a goose egg.
With that said, I do not know if it will be enough to spot this Philly offensive unit. They thrive playing at home for their fans and are averaging just under seven runs a game this past week offensively. The best part of it all, they hit Trevor Williams better than the Nationals hit Suarez, which is scary. They are slashing .308/.399/.675 for a 1.074 OPS on a substantial enough sample size to expect Philly to go out there and do some damage tonight. Philly should win, but the over is the top play.
