The second wager we are diving into tonight on the diamond takes us Queens as the Atlanta Braves take on the New York Mets at Citi Field in the first game of this weekend's clash. Both of these squads were playoff teams last year with a lot of star power and high expectations heading into this season; however, the results have greatly varied. Atlanta continues to dominate at 72-41 and is putting on offensive clinics at the plate almost daily. On the flip side, the New York Mets are 52-62, sitting in fourth place 20.5 games back of their opponents in the division tonight.

New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves Prediction
Totals have been great for Atlanta overall this year, and a lot of that should be attributed to themselves; they can swing the sticks and are among league leaders in run differential. Despite averaging nearly six runs a game across their last five, they are 2-3 in those games and are coming off a loss to Pittsburgh last night. They scored 25 runs in the four games of that series alone, yet split it just 2-2, so I am sure they are motivated heading into this one. The bats need to stay hot, which I am sure they will against Tylor Megill tonight. Megill is sporting a 5.45 ERA heading into the contest.
Charlie Morton has the ball for Atlanta, and while he has thrown the ball relatively well, he has not been spectacular, and that is why I think the Mets contribute here tonight. This has been a disappointing season, but they are still playing home games for loyal, paying fans and this is a divisional series. I expect a strong effort from both sides in a high-scoring affair tonight.
