Atlanta Braves vs. New York Yankees Same-Game Parlay
Leg 1: Austin Riley 2+ Total Bases
I like Austin Riley for two bases today. Riley is swinging a hot bat going for 2+ bases in five of the last six games, with two or more hits in four of those games. He has cleared two bases in nine straight home games and is hitting .417 with a .722 ISO over that span. Additionally, Riley hits better against righties this season. In home games, Riley has a .314 AVG and a .278 ISO versus right-handed pitching.
Leg 2: Matt Olson to Record a Run
I think Matt Olson will record a run today for a few reasons. Olson has been recording runs at a very high rate as of late, going for 1+ run in 15 of the last 17 games. Olson has a .449 AVG and a .694 ISO at home against right-handed pitching since June 28th, and because of how well he has been hitting, he has been getting walked at a much higher rate. Clarke Schmidt has not been walking many batters, as he has recorded two or fewer walks in seven straight starts but has still walked one batter in five straight starts. When he does allow walks, it tends to be too lefties. His walk rate to lefties is at 9.1% vs 3.3% to Righties. With how well Olson has seen the ball, pitchers won’t want to give him much to hit, so I think there is a good chance he gets walked at least once. While I expect Olson to hit his bases, I’m opting to take him for a run just in case he runs into walk issues and gets on base other ways.
Leg 3: Ronald Acuna Jr. 1+ Hit
I will also be taking Ronald Acuna Jr. for a hit in today’s matchup versus Clarke Schmidt. Acuna has been great against right-handed pitching all season and is hitting .409 against it since August 1st. He also has been extremely consistent over his last 20 home games, with a hit in 17 of them. Schmidt’s top three pitches to right-handed batters are his sweeper, sinker, and cutter. These are three of Acuna’s best pitches as he is hitting .400 against sweepers, .371 to sinkers, and .400 to cutters against right-handed pitching.
Leg 4: Michael Harris II 1+ Hit
The last leg of the SGP is Michael Harris to record one hit. Harris has been hitting right-handed pitching very well as of late, hitting .389 against it since August 1st. Additionally, Harris hits much better at home. He has a hit in nine of the last ten home games and owns a .328 AVG against right-handed pitching (at home) this season. Clarke Schmidt will be on the mound for the Yankees, and he primarily throws cutters, sweepers, and curveballs to lefties. Against right-handed pitching, Harris has a .286 AVG to cutters, .500 AVG to sweepers, and .310 AVG to curveballs.
